The story of our journey dates back to 2007, when our founder, Mr. Husain Patanwala, had just completed his engineering studies. At the time, India’s lighting industry was going through a major shift. Traditional lighting solutions were slowly being replaced by modern, energy-efficient LED technology. For Husain, this was more than just a passing trend—it was the future.
With a keen eye for innovation and a desire to build something meaningful, he recognized the potential of LEDs to transform not only homes and businesses but also entire industries. This realization laid the foundation for Orchid Innovations, which officially came to life in 2008 in the bustling city of Mumbai, India.
From the very beginning, the vision was clear: to provide advanced lighting solutions backed with strong technical knowledge and dependable service. What started as a humble operation in a 50 sq. ft. space has now grown into a leading enterprise with over 1000 sq. ft. of operations, a trusted brand name, and a loyal customer base spread across Mumbai, Nashik, Ratnagiri, and several other cities in India.

Mr. Taher Ujjainwala – Managing Director (MD)
As the MD of Orchid Innovations, Taher plays a vital role in operations, strategy, and expansion. He ensures that the company’s mission and vision are translated into day-to-day practices. Together with Husain, he brings balance to leadership—where innovation meets execution.

2008
The Beginning
With the LED revolution just starting, Orchid Innovations introduced high-quality LED lights to the local market. The initial focus was on spotlights, downlights, and strip lights, which quickly found popularity among interior designers and contractors.
2013
Establishing Reputation
Word of mouth and customer trust played a major role in the company’s growth. By maintaining a strong emphasis on technical guidance, Orchid Innovations became the go-to partner for many architects, electricians, and contractors. Our products became known for reliability, while our after-sales support built long-term relationships.
2015–19
Expanding Offerings
The company diversified its product portfolio with profile lights, specialized LED solutions, and imported automation products. This allowed us to cater to specialized markets such as the fashion industry and gymnasiums, where lighting plays a vital role in aesthetics and experience.
2020
A Turning Point
Like many businesses worldwide, Orchid Innovations faced one of its toughest challenges during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Sales dropped, projects were delayed, and uncertainty loomed large. However, instead of slowing down, we innovated. We expanded our focus from just lighting to automation solutions, which soon became one of our strongest offerings. This adaptability ensured our resilience and opened up new markets.
